Overview

The Patrolman improves system reliability by monitoring overhead lines for faults. Its power-efficient electronics, durable mechanical design, and reliable operating principle ensure a long field life of helping to easily locate faults and quickly re-energize power systems.

High-intensity LEDs with a light sensor and a custom-designed lens provide 360-degree visibility. A butterfly-style clamp supports hot-stick installation and removal on bare or covered conductors.

Notable features

  • Superior inrush current restraint
  • Recognizes post-fault backfeed current
  • No minimum load current requirement to respond to faults
  • Butterfly-style clamp for easy and safe installation & removal with hot stick
  • Wide variety of settings available to accommodate existing customer practices and modern power systems
